Pro-Skills 2: Train-the-trainer on basic skills

Adult education and lifelong learning opportunities are predominantly taken up by people who already have a certain level of education. Socially disadvantaged people in particular are rarely represented among the learners or have difficulties in completing the educational offers fully and successfully. For this target group, a lack of social and personal skills can be a potential barrier. Unfortunately, these basic skills are rarely included in adult education curricula, and few courses offer adults the opportunity to test and practise them in a protected environment. Pro-Skills aims to fill this gap.

The new project "Pro-Skills 2: Train-the-trainer on basic skills" is based on the previous project "Pro-Skills: Basic skills for Lifelong learning" (230054 - CP -1-2006-1- LU - Grundtvig - G1PP). As part of this first project, a training concept for the promotion of personal, social and self-management skills for socially disadvantaged adults was developed and published. The aim of the follow-up project that has now been launched is to develop a train-the-trainer concept that familiarizes adult education specialists with the Pro-Skills concept and raises awareness of the underlying need to promote basic skills in adult education.
