Mourning for Dr habil. Jürgen W. L. Wagner
zepf and the Empirische Pädagogik publishing house mourn the loss of a highly esteemed colleague of many years. Jürgen Wagner died unexpectedly at the age of almost 80 on 19 June 2024. Jürgen Wagner studied psychology, education and philosophy in Heidelberg and worked at the Institute for the Common Good in Frankfurt am Main from 1970 to 1972. From September 1972, he worked as a research assistant in the working group for educational diagnostics under the direction of Prof Dr K. Ingenkamp at the former EWH Rheinland-Pfalz, Landau department. He completed his doctorate in Heidelberg in 1976 and worked as a research assistant at zepf until his retirement. In 1997, Jürgen Wagner habilitated on the subject of social comparisons and ability self-assessment at the University of Koblenz-Landau. In addition to his academic work at the zepf, Jürgen Wagner was involved in the Empirical Pedagogy publishing house on a voluntary basis for many years. Until the end, he was treasurer and secretary of the non-profit organisation Empirische Pädagogik, which is run by zepf. Our thoughts are with his family.
