Inter-school performance assessments

The employees of the department are involved in the implementation and evaluation of learning assessments in several German federal states and in German-speaking countries. The implementation is supplemented by research into the effectiveness of these learning assessments and their further development.

Project VERA

With this website, the VERA project group provides several federal states with a portal for carrying out the comparative tests in elementary school and in the eighth grade. The staff of the project group carry out the evaluations of the annual comparative tests and prepare various feedback reports, which are made available to the participating schools in the protected areas.

The individual menu items on these pages can be used to call up general information on the comparative tests and display the federal states participating in the project in Landau. In addition, the teachers of the participating federal states can access the separate protected areas for

VERA3 (elementary school)

and

VERA8 (eighth grade)
to download materials for carrying out the comparative tests, to enter the pupils' test results and finally to view or download feedback on the tests.

In 2012 and 2015, we offered the evaluation of the competence tests in Italian as a second language for the Autonomous Province of Bolzano / South Tyrol.

In 2017, a pilot study on the computer-based implementation of the comparative tests in the eighth grade was carried out in cooperation with the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education.

The VERA project was originally developed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Helmke and (Prof.) Dr. Ingmar Hosenfeld as a comparative test in elementary school back in 2003.

EISVQS project
