OTTER - Otto returns in March with new adventures
- Original message from 17.02.2026: -
The online tool OTTER - Exploring the Tablet Keyboard Online will be available again from March 10. Teachers can log in from this date and familiarize themselves with the revised content. For pupils in Bremen, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, OTTER will start on March 16.
The classes will learn the basic functions of the on-screen keyboard in three chapters, each lasting around 25 minutes:
- Chapter 1: Lowercase letters
- Chapter 2: Capital letters and special characters
- Chapter 3: Numbers and arithmetic symbols
The chapters are structured independently of each other and can be worked on in any order and as often as required. Upper and lower case letters, umlauts, punctuation marks, deleting text and mathematical operators are taught by the mascots Otto and Nami Otter as part of a treasure hunt and preparations for a pirate party.
The access data can be found in the VERA3 portal (Data entry > OTTER access list).
You can also find the flyer for the OTTER online tool and our video here.

VERA3 schools in Lower Saxony now also have the opportunity to use OTTER. We hope you enjoy using the tool!
